I have a (gas fired) hot water heating system with two zones, one for the second floor and one for the main level, continuous loop style.

I would like to add heat to my partially-finished basement without creating a 3rd zone.

The idea I have is to "break" into the first floor zone, and insert a heating section in the basement then connect it back up to the first floor loop. I have very easy access to all plumbing and it is a good logical fit as far as the plumbing.

The main concern I have is whether there would be an issue with this for venting/circulation. I am thinking I could perhaps add a vent on either side of the new section to help remove trapped air.

THe only vent on the entire system is on the output side near the furnace.
