| I recently had a bathroom addition built with a new Whirlpool tub. 2 years ago I had a 40 gallon water heater installed. The few times that I will use the Whirlpool does not seem to warrant the expensive solutions of water on demand systems or tankless water heaters, plus I would lose the small investment put into the 40 gal water heater 2 yrs ago. An obvious solution would be to replace the 40 with a 75 gal, but I don't want to heat 75 gallons continuously when I seldom use the Whirlpool. Is there a solution to add a second 40 gal water heater in line to the existing one? Could the 2nd heater preheat the water and feed the first heater? Or do you have another creative solution that would not require the replacement of the existing water heater with an expensive solution? |

| With two heaters you still have to heat all the water in both heaters, there is no savings. The solution is the one you don't like. Run the hot supply thru a tankless heater. It can be turned off until it is needed and will not heat unless you need it. |

Could you recommend a tankless heater that would supplement my 40 gal house water heater that I can put inline to the hot water supply going to the Whirlpool that would handle filling a 70 gal Whirlpool? |

| I don't have specifics handy, check with a local plumbing supply house, or even a home store. |
