Just occasionally my central heating pumps excess water up the expansion pipe into the header tank. Not good as it leads to steam in the loft!! The pump is set at the lowest speed. I have experimented and can solve the problem by partially closing the gate valve above the pump, but this is obviously not a permanent solution. Confused

Any help appreciated.

I have had this problem also, have found that the air may not be venting properly, the last radiator(might be the first) acts as a vent to the expansion tank, check to see if there is any air trapped in radiator.
