I have a set of 10 mini string to sring 12 volt lights however I can only use 5 lights in my application, I have covered the other 5 with black electrical tape but the set continues to burn out, is there a blank light to get the set to work using only five lights?

Where in the world are you please?
What is your local voltage?
Are the lights wired in series or parallel?

The more info we have the more chance we have of finding a soloution to your problem
