Want to fit recessed ceiling spots.......
what are the benefits of using low voltage over standard 240V ???
the cost of 240v spots is cheaper with no need to buy transformers, but do the running costs of low voltage outway the outlay of spots + transformers ??
last one.... how many lights can you run from one transformer ???
Thanks in advance |

There is no difference in the running costs of mains or low voltage lighting if the lamp wattage is the same.
Low voltage lamps tend to be around 20% brighter watt for watt than the mains gu10 lamps.
Generally you can run only 1 low voltage lamp per transformer unless you fitt a large transformer. ie. a 200va tranny will run 4 x 50w lamps and a 50va tranny will run 1 x 50w lamp or 2 x 20w and so on.
Just make sure the VA rating is = to or greater than the wattage of the lamps connected.
Hope this helps
