When we flush the toilet or use the shower which is up staires there is a rattling noise in the pipes. When the shower is switched off it sounds like there is something in the pipe which is falling back down.
Does anybody have any ideas what this could be.

Could be just about anything.

Turn the water off and disconnect a pipe that rattles, connect a hose pipe and run it outside to a bucket, or the bath, turn the water on and see if anything pops out.

I have seen the little balls come out off the cheaper isolating valves (ballofix type) when there fitted the wrong way round.

lets know if you find anything.
