I had a new boiler installed last year. Since then the temperature drops 2 degrees or so below the set point before the boiler kicks in. This usually happens during very cold weather, not all the time.
I've had the heating contractor come here twice to check the problem. The first one said to turn the heat anticipator all the way up. At the time he was here it wasn't a particularly cold day, and the problem didn't come up.
This past week another technician looked at it, and tried to calibrate the thermostat, but said it wouldn't take the calibration, so he replaced it. He also sugested that the thermometer on the thermostat isn't very accurate, and this is normal. However, I can tell it gets colder because I can feel it.
I didn't have this trouble with my old 30-year old boiler that was replaced.
Now the trouble is still there. Could this be a problem with the zone valve or boiler control box? I have 2-zone heat and the other zone works fine. |

Most stats are plus or minus a few degs, and isn't a problem, in fact I would be amazed if you can feel 2degs.
Turn the starting point higher.

| Thanks for the response. However, my concern is that I didn'thae this problem before the new boiler was installed. |

I would get the installers back to check the system.
