I have recently moved into a new flat in London.
At present there is a mixer shower in the bathroom, which is to say the least, not powerful .Barely useable really.
I am wondering what is the best way to get a good powerful shower in there.
Would the solution be to buy a power shower, or how about a good shower pump, or even both.
Water pressure isn't particularly strong in the flat, although there are no problems with central heating/hot water.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Where does your hot water come from - combi boiler , or HW cylinder. If the latter where is its header (supply from above) tank. It could be in a loft, or the top of a cupboard, or the top of the cylinder...

If the mixer is on the bath taps, is the cold from the mains. (Can you stop the cold bath tap flow with your finger?)

After some excellent info from the scruff I fitted a single pump from the HW supply (gravity system) to the bath to boost the pressure to match the cold (mains) for a mixer shower....this is now superb and I would recommend this approach if your cold is off the mains and you have a gravity system. I had no previous experience and the last plumber who came round was impressed so if I can do it anyone can!

The hot water comes from a cylinder on the same level as the bathroom. There is a header tank in the loft directly above the bathroom, approx. 8 feet above the level of the taps.
The mixer is on both taps but you can't stop the cold bath tap flow by putting your finger on the tap.Does this mean the cold is from the mains not the tank?

Hope this is enough info to help.
Thanks for your input Dave.

Easy to test if the cold's on the mains.....find the stopcock for the housefeed (tap usually located somewhere in the kitchen) turn it off and then try the tap in the bathroom....if it stops then that's your answer! HTH
