Hi All,

Fitted a new bathroom suite and i am having trouble with the sealing doughnut between the cistern and toilet, it is ok until i flush then a leak starts. Does anyone have any tips on what to do, the doughnut type supplied with the loo was a plastic sponge like thing a bit like the material you use the insulate copper pipes. Would a different type of doughnut seal do any better and can anyone recommend a good one cos i am sick of taking this toilet to bits.

Any help would be great

Some distortion or mould imperfection could also cause this problem.

You could a new simolar shaped seal (there are several different sizes I shapes) or try a bead of silicon each side of the one you have. Remember the cistern must sit square to pan ot it will leak.

PTS and most probably other merchants as well sell an alternative doughnut that is slightly larger and made from rubber rather than the foasm type you have. I believe this is a better doughnut so its worth a try.
