| Please help,, this has me baffled. I have done a dye test and replaced the ballcock on my toilet. Everyone checks out okay. It still runs sporadically, and very slowly. I finally discovered that it will run right after a water tap somewhere else in the house has been shut off. Turn on the bathroom sink tap for 15 seconds and then shut it off. The toilet runs, very slowly for a while. If you turn the sink tap back on, the toilet flow stops. Its as though there is a drop in pressure and the water flows back into the pipes, causing the toilet to run. Has anyone heard of this. Its driving me crazy. |

All the time.
You either have very low pressure or a blockage in the line. |

Thanks Scruff. Because I have good pressure in the rest of the house, I will try looking at line blockage. A few weeks ago the city workers repaired the water main down the street. After that I found I had to remove a white calcium-like deposit from my tap screens. Possibly that has also clogged the toilet line between the 1/2 in copper feed and the valve. Any suggestions in clearing it, or should I just change the narrow flex line going to the toilet tank?
Thanks again!! |

| You could check the flex line and also the nozzle in the ballvalve |
