Hi all, anyone got any idea how to get Thunderbird to act as default mail client, when I click Process Mail in Mailwasher on my own PC, Thunderbird opens up. After installing Mailwasher and Thunderbird and Firefox..When I do the same on my friends PC , who has just bought one with Vista Home Premium, Windows Mail opens up. This is after making Thunderbird the default mail client. tried everything to stop Windows Mail but it still fires up. Apparently, Windows Mail is the newer version of Outlook Express. He wants to retain Mailwasher and Thunderbird. cheers. [Hi Nick] Wink

Shwmae Dai Smile

I'm none too good with Vista, however I have it on good authority that if you are using Windows Vista you should go to "Start -> Default Programs -> Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" and set "Mozilla Thunderbird" as your default e-mail application.

Borrowed from : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_mail_client

PS. Hope the sale of your Cattery has gone well Very Happy

Wow! You only sound half that (no I don't mean thick, I mean youthfull Smile )

If you do move to Hessle, bring your cattery - I'll need a trustworthy one in 6 months or so!

Sorry the advice didn't work for you Sad - a lot of people seem to have that trouble yet the program default option seems to get them out of it, did you follow the article and choose the 'custom' option? -->

"I've solved the problem. Here's the solution: Open Start menu > Default Programs > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults. Do NOT open Set Your Default Programs, the first choice. The window that opens is very confusing so users should open Help before proceeding and read the instructions. Essentially, there are 3 sections: Microsoft Windows, Non-Microsoft and Custom. The correct choice is Custom because Non-Microsoft disables Microsoft programs! It's necessary to click ^^ to see the choices within Custom. In this Window you can select TB as the default and enable or disable other programs."
