|
|
Hi,
Just got home from work and been told i have no hotwater comming out of any of the hot taps.. i also have no water being feed to the toilet system as i have pulled the pipe of which feeds in the bottom of the bowl and there is no pressure.
I live in a cottage which has a old boiler tank in the kids bedroom .. i can here the water heating up and the top pipe is hot.
My main guess is that i have a blockage in the hot water system... but my main worry is that the toilet system is feed from the mains pipe underground ... am i correct?
I really wish i had found another company to take me on when i was at collage and finished my corse lol. |

Have you got water at the kitchen tap.
As you seem to have lost both hot and cold, I would check the ballvalve in the storage tank. could be stuck. |

Its possible you have an air lock by the sound of it.
Turn the hot and cold on at the bath and hold your hand over the end of the spout and try to stop the flow, for about a minute and see what happens |

the sink should be mains, you could link the hot and cold washing machine taps with one of the hoses.
Coming back to the storage tank, there was plenty of water in it and the valve was running ok.
Do you know if the mains was turned off for any reason during the day. |

ill try the wachine machine.
The storage tank .. the water was below the outlet pipes to feed the house im . the valve it's self the U shaped valve had just a tiny trickle of water coming out of it and the ball was fine.
as far as the mains that would not of ben turned of for any reason as the wife would have no resaon to turn it off ...unless it has been turned off outside the house.. as we get our water from nere the farm. |

I was thinking of outside.
I think you need to get the ballvalve cleaned and running properly first.
If you turn the water off you should be able to service the valve and clean the nozzle.
What I think has happened is the tank has run dry and you now have an airlock in the pipes, filling the tank may clear it overnight. |

Either, but the valve need to be cleaned or changed or the problem is likely to return.
Another trick you could try if you have a wet and dry vac, is to see if you can suck the air from the bath tap, but as above. |
