I am thinking of replacing my toilet and removing the high level cistern and putting a close coupled system in its place. However, the existing soil stack has an additional 2" copper pipe running paralel to it which is t'ed off from the main 4" just behind the existing toilet. This is in the way for fitting the new cistern. Can it be cut and capped? is it necessary? or will I have to re-route it?
As far as I can see this is not an old waste pipe to a sink or suchlike
