Hi.
I have fitted a new bathroom, not for the first time but have a problem on this one. The cold water is getting into the hot water pipe. We did not have a shower in this room before and the bath taps were seperate. The basin which is mixer taps works fine but now the water is turned on to the bath and shower we have the problem being when both isolation valves are open the hot pipe goes cold. Also when the taps are turned off and valves left open there is a continual flow from the overflow from a tank in the attic. It seems as though the cold pressure is forcing the hot back through the pipe.

Cheap taps Laughing

Water regs say there should be single check valves fitted to prevent backflow
