| I AM BUILDING A RAISED FORT FOR NURSERY CHILDREN AND I AM USING 4 INCH ROUND POSTS AS SUPPORTS THE FORT PLATFORM WILL BE THREE FET OFF THE FLOOR I HAVE UG THE POST HOLES FOUR FEET DEEP BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT WHEN I CONCRETE THEM IN THAT IF THEY ROT OFF IN 10 OR 15 YEARS I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THEM SO I AM GOING TO CONCRETE 4 INCH SOIL PIPE INTO THE HOLES AND THEN DROP THE POSTS IN TO THESE THAT WAY IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO REMOVE THEM THE POSTS FIT SNUGLY INSIDE THE SOIL PIPES WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE |

I think you should put something at the bottom that allows the water to run out.
I hear there's loads of regulations with what you are doing, and I would seek advice from the building dept, just to satisfy them and your public liability insurance.
Oh and take the caps lock off.  |

| Thanks for the reply i am going to put a silicone bead around the top were the post mets the concrete also if there is any space around the post i would be able to pour wood preservative into the tube and allow it to soak i am going to sit the post and plastic sol pipe sleeve on a small piece of broken paving slab so it will allow concrete to flow under the post giving it a strong base to sit on wat do u think sorry about caps lock |
