my shower and wash basin are connected to the saniflo and until quite recently have all worked fine. Now the shower water will not drain away unless I turn on the macerator manually. I ran the wash basin and this failed to start up the saniflo, eventually the sink water was coming back up the shower. Does the inlet valve need cleaning and if so do I need to drain the water out of the cistern and macerator first. Help me I am a weak and feeble woman so all you hunky plumbers out there can rush to my rescue as soon as possible!

thats not professional scruff.
a professional plumber, on encountering a blocked saniflo, will adopt the thinkers posture, then boot the friggin thing, hoping to kick start the
motor.

failing that, the professional plumber will tell the customer that theyre going to to their van and "may be some time..."

Good learning curve for a CC Rolling Eyes

Sounds like the float switch has stuck up so a good kick may just work, best done with wellies and a wet vac hnady.
