Hello

I'm refitting my kitchen and have rather big unattractive isolator switches for my fridge, oven, washing machine and boiler which are placed above the kitchen worktops on the tiled splashbacks. As the kitchen is quite small and I want to have two double plugs too, I'd quite like to get rid of the isolator switches as otherwise it will look really cluttered.

I'm guessing there are regs which say I have to have all these isolator switches, but if that isn't the case, or if there are ways to make them look more discrete, or any other suggestions, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

You can put the switch fuse or sockets behind the appliance if you have the room.
The reason they are above the unit is so you do not have to pull out the unit to turn it off.
The only one you can't move is the cooker which has to be within 3m of the cooker/hob and easily accessable and the one for the boiler which has to be within 1m.
