Hi - We recently moved into a Victorian cottage, and one of the upstairs rooms suffers from bad condensation. You can see where it has run down and stained the paint, and is often damp to the touch.

It is only a small room (c5ft x 7ft), has one window, and a electric wall heater.

We have tried putting a dehumidifier in there, heating it contiuously and always leave the window on ventilation but the condensation remains.

I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to prevent it, all our washing is done in a seperate building, we have an extractor fan that is always used in the bathroom.

We were going to use this as a nursery, but with the condensation we now can't use the room for that purpose.

I have not checked the roof for amount of insulation - if this insulation was increased would this have a major impact? Also I could put a radiator in there running off the oil fired central heating, but don't want to go to that expense if it would have minimal impact?

Any ideas would be much appreciated - Thanks - Richard
