|
|
The circulation of my central heating is not great. Either the thermostat of the boiler kicks in, or if I turn up the thermostat I have to regularly bleed the radiators to let air out that presumably is caused by the water virtually boiling. Turning the pump up to top speed does not rectify this.
The system was new when I moved in, but I have flushed the system and it isn't clogged. The pump is situated on the flow pipe prior to the 3 way valve. I have tried moving it directly after the boiler, but this just succeeded in shooting hot water out of the top of the system into the feed and expansion tank!
Is the position of the pump likely to be a factor or more likely to be the layout of the pipework? (There is a branch to a radiator that branches off from the main 'loop' of the pipework)
Any thoughts anyone might have would be appreciated. |

Relocate pump to original position. A new boiler means you should have manufacturer's instruction manual as well as a Benchmark Logbook. This logbook will tell you what chemicals and treating agents were used when new boiler was fitted. It should also tell you if the boiler and installation has been set up to maker's requirements. Chances are you will not find this logbook as system was not treated.
System debris is likely to be the cause of poor operation.
Are all the rads failing to heat up? |

Definitely a problem with the system, who fitted it.
I will update your drawing a bit, more info will be required.
