Hello all, I am in the bath resurfacing business but an old lady asked me to paint her bathroom ceiling. The paint on the ceiling was all mouldy and peeling off in places because they didnt open the windows when showering(very small room) . I scraped off this original paint (most of it), and painted 3 coats of fleetwood ceiling paint. Now a day later the dam ceiling is flaking.
I'm thinking the reason being is cus I didnt use a primer before the ceiling paint. Can you tell me where I went wrong and more importantly what can I do to rectify this problem?
Please help.

Check to see if the original paint on the ceiling is whitewash, 'coz it doesn't matter what paint you put on top of it, it 'aint gonna stick, not no neverhow. it's like chalk based, and nothing sticks to a powder,
The best way to check is to find a bit on the ceiling and spit on your finger and rub it into the paint, if it comes off onto your finger then it's whitewash, and the only way to remove it is to scrape it off and wash it several times with clean water. After that, you can apply a very thin coat of emo [emulsion], let it dry over night and then emo as normal. Hope that helps.
