I have a real flame gas fire that keeps going out after a few minutes - I was told this may be the pilot light that needs cleaning- could this be the case and is it easy to do?

In a real flame gas fire there is no pilot light. How old is the fire and when was it last serviced?

Gas fires MUST be regularly serviced. By their very nature they are liable to give off quite large amounts of Carbon Monoxide gas and need cleaning and checking.

Ensure that whoever does this servicing is CORGI registered and that his card confirms he is qualified to work on gas fires.
