| Hi, I've had an impreza for about 3 months it's a 2001 UK300. When I first start the car from cold i can smell fuel. There are no signs of leakage on the floor. If I use the air con straight away after starting the car the fuel smell ends up in side the car. From under the bonnet it does smell at the passenger side near where the fuel lines come into the filter. Once i've driven down the road and got on to the bypass the smell has gone. I've tried searching on the internet for remedies but the only suggestion I have come across in some of the forums is that the fuel smell is a common problem with impeza's and that is when it's cold the fuel hoses contract and fuel vapour can escape. Is this true? I've been round all the hoses that I can get to, the only ones remaining are those under the inlet manifold and they look impossible to get at without removing the manifold. Anyone any idea's? Thanks in advance, Simon. |
