Hi There
I have just obtained a survey report for the property that I am interested in buying which advises the below repairs required:-
1. There are areas of water ingress and associated soft timber affectingteh sarking boards around the chimney breast within the roof void.
2. The roof slating will now require careful ongoing future maintenace to keep it in a sound & watertught condition.
Can you advise if this is a major concern and will have to be repaired immediately and is this a major bit of work to undertake?
The house is a 2 bedroom upper leave 4 in a block style cottage.
Many Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

The first question is due to the lead flashing or brickwork around the chimney. Maybe £3-400 quid to renew.
The roof itself sounds in a bad way but without more details it's not possible to comment.
You should allow somewhere between £5000 and £10000 quid for a new roof in your offer price. |
