My tub drips from the faucet. I believe it is from the hot water knob. I was told by a plumber today that he could rebuild it for $300.00 or put in a new complete faucet for $900.00. Both of those figures seem really high I mean it is only dripping. He told me that if I didn't replace it that eventually it would fail and I could have more problems. I have no idea, I would just like it to stop dripping. Any ideas? The house was built 1960. Thank you.

This side the pond that would be expensive, probably only the packing gland about an hours work.

Get another quote and if you have the means email me a jpeg of the tap.
