| Please could you tell me if there is a simple formular for working out what size radiators you need in a room and what output of boiler to run them. My present boiler needs replacing and I have had three quotes, all quoting main standard boiler types but all with different output. Obviously the more output quoted the more the price, however I don't wont to go for the lowest if it is not up to the job. |

Piece a cake for a brain surgeon.
1. download a ready reckoner for free from Myson Radiators.
2. measure the length and width of the room and the ceiling height.
3. decide on room temperature, e.g. lounge 75c, beds 60c etc
4. calculate glass area M2.
5. number of outside walls
6. feed all the information into the calculator and it will give you KW /h for that room.
7. With a radiator list from your local stockist select a radiator that best fits your room of the correct KW/h, large rooms may require 2 or more rads to evenly distribute the heat, (divide the KW by the number of rads).
8. do all the rooms as above and you will end up with a total KW/h required.
9. add a further 3-5KW for hot water larger houses and multiple bathrooms will require additional calculations.
10. Do let us know how you got on.
