I have a leak in the ceiling and can't tell where it is coming from.
It happens only when I run the shower. The drain can either be open or closed. If I fill the tub I get no leaks. If I run water with the drain open I get no leaks. I only get leaks when the shower is on.
I have access to see the plumbing coming into the tub and back about two feet. There is not leaks or water spots around the shower head, the valves, where the shower pipe goes up nothing!
My question is; When the shower is turned on does that cause more pressure in the pipes delivering the water that somewhere in those pipes it would start leaking at a weak spot that when just running water into the tub it would not leak?
Any ideas would be appreciated. |

Probable something simple like the tray is leaking around the edges.
Try chucking a few buckets of water on the tiles and see if it returns.
ps, don't go too mad because you have to catch it downstairs if it leaks.

That is it. The laks are coming from the tile wall.
Thanks very much! |

So clean all around the edge and make sure its dry, then seal the tray with silicon mastic made for sanitary ware. |
