What's the name of the white chalky stuff that decorators paint on the inside glass of shop windows when they're doing them up to stop Joe public from looking in? It lets the light in and at the end of the job you can just wipe it off the glass with a cloth.

Whats the name of it and whats it made of??

Tried lots of different descriptions in Google but with no luck!

Windowlene window cleaner does a good job, then you only have to buff them up when you are done.

I find vinegar & newspaper's good for cleaning glass.
But anyway, I think there's some confusion as to what I'm asking..
Here goes again.

When you walk past a shop that's being refurbished, the contractor's usually paint the shop windows with a white 'paint'. The white 'paint' still lets the light in through the window but stops the public looking into the shop whilst its being done up. The 'paint' comes off the glass very easily, usually by contractors writing graffiti with their fingers in the 'paint'. I need to buy some of this 'paint' to cover the glass on my windows whilst I'm doing the place up.

What is the name of this 'paint' or how do you make it up? Is it a chalk solution??

NO, you have the wrong end of the stick.
Windowlene when you apply it to the window will stay white and dry that way so you can not see in. When you have finished you can buff it off like car polish.
Hope this clears that up 4 u.
