We drained our system down yesterday in order to remove a thermostatically controlled radiator which did not have a valve head.
Now we cannot get any cold water supply upstairs. Rising main is fine and hot water is fine just no cold upstairs. We have tried taps in the tank in all positions but no change. Help please !!!!!!!!! Crying or Very sad

I may be missing something here, but water for heat and water for drinking/bathing, have no connection, they are seperate systems. You may have turned off an incorrect valve and did not turn it back on????

Yes, as Bill says it sounds like you turned off more than you needed to and drained the house tap water as well as the heating water! Still, no damage done.
Assuming you HAVE turned all the taps back on, you have an air lock in your upstairs cold supply - very normal! The solution is to get water to go up the cold pipe from the tap end. First try the easy thing: get some hose and connect the hot and cold taps together in say the bathroom basin, and turn em both on. Hold the hose there for things to stop making noises. Remove hose and see if it's better. Once the water's moving it will remove residual air. If that doesn't work, you need a longer hose to get the mains up the cold tap, from an outside or kitchen sink tap. That will clear it fairly promptly.

If your bath and basin both have mixers, it's a bit more difficult but there are ways - come back!
