| When I flush my toilet the tank refills, but overfills so that my toilet reflushes. Why does this happen? |

Depends what sort of valve you have in your cistern. Assuming you're in the UK you probably have the float operated valve with a ball on the end of an arm.
After a flush, lift the ball up. That should close the inlet off. If it doesn't you need a new washer.
If it does, the level is just set too high. Again, types vary, but usually the level is adjustable by a screw which pushes a pin in the middle of the body of the valve itself.
If the valve is the older metal type the pivot for the arm wil be a split pin just underneath. With these there's often no adjustment so you have to bend the arm a bit.
Sometimes the ball is fixed to a bent-down arm with a screw. undo the screw and lower the ball then retighten. |

| Or sometimes the ball gets a leak and fills with water, so the valve never shuts off properly. Fix, replace the ball. |
