I have a extension build not that long ago and there are hair like cracks near the ceilings and walls. Are these what they call settling cracks?
I was told this is normal it happens to most new build, is it true?

I want to fill the cracks and paint over them.
How do we do this? What product to use?

Please help! Confused

yes they could be just that, but you should leave them for a year, before raking the cracks out with a scrapper and filling with Polyfiller or similar.

Joints in the plaster board should have been taped/scrim before plastering, so any long straight crack that clearly show the edge of the boards mean they haven't done the job properly, this would also apply around the ceiling edge where the boards meet the walls.
