We are completely renovating a house and hope to fit a new Sealed Condensing System Boiler (Potterton Promax HE) and Unvented Cylinder (Heatrae Saidae). The water pressure is good within the house.
Two Corgi Registered central heating firms have now recommended that the work should not be carried out without first replacing the lead water main within our boundary. The street water main was replaced two years ago, and lead within the house was removed 10 years ago.
If the water pressure is good, how essential is this work now? There are grants available, but would it be a significant improvement to the performance of the Sealed Unvented system.
Answers thankfully received.
