First time water hook-up on 30 year old mobile home

Due to lifes circumstances water services have never being hooked up to a 30+ year mobile home. I am making it possible for this individual to get water into their for the first time. Do you think that the plumbing and water heater and anything else plumbing/water related in this mobile home still functional. I can just imagine everything blowing up after turning on the water. This is pre HUD mobile home. Should I take the chance or not? What procedures can I do to see if this will work or not? Thank you for your time.
