| Hi. I recently installed a ceiling fan and I attached all the wires to its corresponding parts. When I turned on the switch, nothing happened. I checked the switch on the wall as well as the switch on the ceiling itself and they both checked out ok. I opened up the switch on the wall and I tested the wires for power but it didn't have any. What is the solution to this. :( |

All depends on the way your system is wired.
Drawings and colours of cables would be good to start with.

| Picture a rectangular box...on top are numbers 1-4. At the bottom left corner, a wire (black, white, and ground) and at the bottom right corner the same thing. On each of the numbers (1-4) are wires coming down into the blue eletrical box each with a black, white, and ground. All the whites are spliced togehter as well as all the ground wires. Each wire on the numbered spot (1-4) controls a switch, #1 is a dimmer for 4 recess lights, #2 is for a ceiling fan, #3 is for an outside light, and #4 is for 2 more recess lights. I pigtailed the bottom left black wire to the switches and each one of the worked except for the #2 wire, the one for the ceiling. It has no power. |

have you tested across the switch to make sure you have continuity and that the contacts in the switch actually work ok?
If so, is the neutral present at the fan?
